They say love is all around you, if you are looking for it. But sometimes true love stumbles across you, surprising you.

Beginning in the summer of 2015, fate had it that Ryan and Sarah would coincidentally cross paths several times. From Sunday mornings at HPUMC, to coffee shop encounters at Union Coffee, to volunteering at sewing events for Capes for Kids, it seemed that there was something more to their relationship than a chance encounter.

 

Neither Sarah nor Ryan can pinpoint a specific “first date” but in February 2018 their growing relationship was made “official” on the day of the Form Follows Fitness 5K. Ryan came out on an early rainy morning to cheer Sarah on and later that day took her to dinner and a show to celebrate. Sarah almost didn’t show-up for the race that morning due to the rain, but she is so glad she did!

 

Ryan and Sarah have grown to enjoy spending time together creating unique dishes in the kitchen, hanging out with friends near and far, traveling, growing in their faith and sharing their passion for the built environment. Over the years they have survived a global pandemic together, the challenges and pressures of changing jobs, and evolving friend groups.

 

Fast-forward to a beautiful late November day in 2024, when Ryan popped the big question to Sarah in a private moment at White Rock Lake, surprising her with a beautiful ring hidden in a delicious cake. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate our continued journey together with you all!
